The CC-SG virtual appliance can be run in served mode, using either a physical or virtual machine license server, or in not-served mode, in which your license is bound to the virtual machine that the virtual CC-SG appliance runs on. A license server is not needed in not-served mode.
Raritan recommends using the simpler, not-served mode for all new installations. CC-SG 5.3 and later is required for not-served mode. Previous installs with served licenses do not need to make any changes unless you want to change to not-served mode. Eliminating the license server from your configuration requires regenerating new licenses at the Raritan Licensing Portal. Contact Raritan Technical Support for assistance
For details on each type of installation, download the Quick Setup Guide for the license mode you want to use.
Go to www.raritan.com, click Support > Firmware and Documentation > CommandCenter Secure Gateway. Click the Quick Setup Guides link under the CC-SG release you are using, then select the Quick Setup Guide you need.
Note: A license server can be managed using one of two license server managers: lmgrd or lmadmin. Flexera's lmgrd is a command-line utility for license server management. Flexera's lmadmin is a GUI-based application for license server management that can be accessed remotely or locally at the license server. You must select one manager and follow that installation only. You cannot use both.
See the Flexera™ FlexNet Publisher® documentation for more details about managing your license server. You can download the FlexNet Publisher License Administration Guide for FlexNet Publisher Licensing Toolkit 11.8 from www.flexera.com, under Support > Documentation Center.
