The KX III supports one playback and capture device and one record device on a target at a time. The following audio device formats are supported:

- Mono, 16 bit, 44.1K
- Stereo, 16 bit, 22.05K
- Mono, 16 bit, 22.05K
- Stereo, 16 bit, 11.025K
- Mono, 16 bit, 11.025K
